A Cross-Leg Wooden and Aluminum Low Table (2003)

Ever since I was inspired by Eames chairs, I had wanted to try making a table in this style, so I finally decided to create one. The support poles are made of aluminum. Since I was running out of space at home, I decided to sell it at the next flea market, which is a bit of a shame.
What I like most about this piece is the unexpected harmony between the unique color of the wood, created by burning the surface, and the cold, inorganic tone of the aluminum. Even when it gets scratched, the marks don’t stand out — in fact, they add character and guide the table toward a deeper sense of completion over time. A table that remains perfectly new forever would never develop that kind of affection.
