Expressing Color — Pen Stand

How do we express color? Everyone instinctively knows that the way we express it can change an object dramatically. In this pen stand, I tried to explore that idea by expressing form through pale tones and subtle gradations.

At first glance, it may look as if it is made only in black and white. But is that really true? I can’t help but feel that within this black and white world, many hidden colors are quietly waiting beneath the surface.
