Handmade Cowhide Planner Cover for Artemis()

I bought a planner made by a company called Artemis, which I found at Loft, and decided to make a leather cover to go with it. Since I used a sewing machine, I was able to finish it much faster than I expected.

The leather I used was an orange, slightly thick cowhide that I had bought quite some time ago, so I was worried whether it would work well as a cover — but it turned out beautifully, and I’m really happy with the result. “Simplicity is the ultimate refinement,” as the saying goes.

When I showed it to people, they often said, “You’re switching planners at a strange time of year.” But my current planner is simply a Muji grid notebook in which I draw my own lines and dates, so I can stop using it anytime — and start again anytime as well.

If only there were a planner with dates and holidays printed from the beginning, while still keeping that simple format — that would be the perfect planner. I wish someone would turn that into a real product someday.
