Monkey Farm — Nakahara Store (2022)

This neon-sign-style shelf was created for an event. The more I build, the more it feels as if things are drifting in a strange direction. I’ve never found much appeal in making the same thing over and over again — yet when I stop and think about it, none of them are really the same. At first glance it may look like a realm of repetition, but in truth it’s a collection of singular, fleeting moments, each one unrepeatable.
While I’m lost in these half-nonsensical thoughts, what somehow emerges in the end is a pop and cute “Monkey Farm.” That probably means, at my core, I’m a soft and rounded kind of being. The quiet strictness hidden in the monkey can stay tucked away for now.
