A Handmade Wooden and Metal TV Antenna (2007)

I’m not entirely sure why this design is able to receive a TV signal, but somehow it works — the picture comes through. The total cost is only about 500 yen, so I recommend trying it if you’re curious.
When connecting the antenna to the television, it’s better to use a proper adapter made for coaxial cables. In the photo, the copper and aluminum rods are held together with rubber bands, but I think almost anything would work for that part. However, fastening them with wire might possibly cause problems, so it may be worth experimenting carefully if you have time.
Process:
Simply put, prepare six metal rods — copper and aluminum, each about 30 cm in length — and attach them to a wooden stick to form the antenna.
