Portrait-Style Photo of Arata

I created a portrait-style illustration of my child based on a photograph. Using GIMP, I first adjusted the contrast and brightness to convert the photo into a clear, high-contrast black-and-white image with defined outlines. After that, I layered the same image on top, added a faint layer of color, and then painted primary colors by hand on the upper layer to give it a portrait-like finish. Since it turned out nicely, I also made a similar portrait for my niece.
